Help me! I got lost an hour ago. So many equations and acronyms I don't know. At least I was given free pizza.

We're discussing initial results of different ways to manage exhaust temp to get a catalytic converter up to working temp faster therefore making the engine run cleaner. All while upping fuel economy.

Why not electric heater? At least to get it up to temperature.

Yeah, I would have a wire in the CC that as soon as the vehicle was switched on, would start warming the CC. Then once at Operating Temperature, it would automatically shut off. Should be a cheap and simple fix.

Can't you just run leaner on startup? Less fuel = hotter burn?

The trick they are using is cylinder deactivation. The less air in the system the hotter... But, you don't want to add extra fuel to hurt the environment any more.
